Krazy Over Keith

Since I had finished college I worked at a government agency in MD, it had zero to do with what I went to school for but the pay was excellent so I couldn't knock that. The job, not so much, it took alot to learn it but I was finally getting the hang of things. That is until I saw Keith. I remember it like it was yesterday even though this happened over a year ago. He waltzed pass my desk one day, we made eye contact and he smiled. That's it! I was always told I was a pretty decent looking chick so for me that just simply wouldn't do. I was puzzled as my friend, Yolanda, walked up. We had went to college together and she had been working at the job about a year longer then me. I wouldn't dare tell Yolanda about my new found crush, she was hell bent on me being with Eden, all my friends were, all they saw was the materialistic side of our past relationship and they were smitten with him! Ugh!
Any who she stood talking and diverting my attention for a while until Keith rounded the corner and stopped at my desk. He introduced himself and dumb old me just sat there with my mouth agape. Yolanda looked at me like I was crazy but introduced us as they carried on in conversation. I never said anything the whole time, he was that fine, had me speechless. Luckily she didn't press me on it after he left, shrugging it off as me being the typical rude Jaycee. If she only knew!
I didn't run into Keith until about a month later my friends had dragged me out to a lounge since we hadn't been out in a while and just like any party if there wasn't a cute guy to grab my attention I wasn't interested. So I danced around with them looking bored until this guy bumped me. I started to get smart but his friend caught my eye. It was Keith! Him in the club? Couldn't be! I mean at work he was pretty nerdy which is why I was shocked I liked him, he was all about the job and this guy standing in front of me cursing to lyrics with not one but two drinks in his hand couldn't possibly be him?
I took my phone and shined it in their direction. I didn't care I needed a good look at his face to see if it was him, both of our friends and him looked at me like I was crazy and then he recognized me and pulled me in for a hug. You know i just about melted. He turned me around just like that and we started dancing.......... and dancing........... and dancing.
He finally whispered in my ear "Didn't know you could move so well, are you going to let me call you after tonight?" Ummmm "Duh!" I wanted to say but instead I smiled and pulled out my phone. We exchanged numbers and flirted a bit more before my friends had to practically pull me away. I was so hype all weekend waiting for him to call, but it didn't happen that weekend, not did he pass my desk at work all that week. He ALWAYS had to pass my desk to get to his this meant he was avoiding me . That pissed me off, nothing had even happened! Why take my number if you want to play games?
By the Friday I chalked it as a lost and headed to VA for my Bday weekend. I was headed out the door for my official birthday party in Norfolk VA when my cell buzzed. It was almost midnight so I figured it was an early birthday call. I started to ignore it since I was running late but when I glanced down at the phone I saw "KEITH" blinking back and forth 0n the screen. I almost choked and dropped everything in my hands to answer. I was too old to be acting so foolish over a boy I hardly knew but so what!
I got myself together before finally answering "Hello?"..........................
